- Betty J. Heffernan (nee Rullman), 81, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003. Mrs. Heffernan was born April 25, 1922 in Chicago. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Jay) Bach and Elizabeth (Douglas) Mikel; six grandchildren, Tracy (Kurt) Vogel, William (Catherine) Bach, Amy E. Mikel, Christine P. Mikel, Gabriel Mathless and Stephanie Mathless; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Charles Vogel; and a sister, Lois E. Helt. She is predeceased by her husbands, Joseph "Bud" Heffernan and William H. Jacob; and her daughter, Jan Heffernan. A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Northfield Community Church in Northfield.
