- Lifetime Wilmette resident Peter J. Steffens died March 22 in the house where he was born. He was 82. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Beth; a son, Donald, of Prospect Heights; two daughters, Rosemary, of Valparaiso, Ind., and Arlene Oik of Mundeline; and a sister, Barbara Brautigam. Burial in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
