- Virginia Smith Martin, 85, of Wilmette, died Jan. 22 in Harrisonburg, Va. Her husband was the late James W. Martin. She is survived by two daughters, Jaimee Claire Carlson of Lake Forest, James W. Martin, Jr. of Glencoe; and 14 grandchildren.
