- Janet Lawton (née DeCosta) Johnson, 91, of Wilmette, died June 10, 2001 in Evanston Hospital. Born March 14, 191 in Chicago. Survivors include a daughter, Janet L.(Thomas) Reimer of Wilmette; a son, Dr. William J. (Patsy) Lawton of Iowa City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Scott Reimer of Rolling Meadows, Craig (Chris) Reimer of Chicago, Amy Reimer of Wilmette, Dr. Timothy (Brenda) Lawton of Wichita, Kan., and Dr. Jeane (John) Esler of Sutton, Ma.; three great-grandchildren, Nathanael and Joshua Lawton of Wichita, Kan., and Matthew Reimer of Chicago; a sister, Rayna (Dr. Arthur) Loewy. Preceded in death by her first husband, Joel S. Lawton; her second husband, Kurt T. Johnson and her brother, Dr. Edwin J. (Alyce; late Mari) DeCosta.
