- Hugh J. Helmer of Wilmette died Aug. 7 in Milwaukee. He was 75, and a native of Pontiac, Mich. He is survived by his wife, Jane Stratton Helmer; a daughter, Louise Baumert of Monte Sereno, Cal; two sons, Frederick of Naples, Fla; and James of Crystal Lake; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
