- Harold W. (Hal) Hammond, who for many years operated the Hammond Ice Cream Co. in Wilmette, died February 11 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The long-time resident of the village was 76. Mr. Hammond's wife, Alyce, died July ? [illegible] 1979 in West Palm Beach. He is suvived by a son, Norman B. of Iron River, Michigan; a daughter, Doree Lorence of Mexico; seven grandchildren, and a brother, Bertrand of Wilmette. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
