- Louis B. Braun, Sr., formerly of Wilmette, died in Tuscon, Ariz., on Feb. 16, at the age of 90. Mr. Braun was born at his father's home, Joseph Braun, at 1134 Illinois Road in Wilmette. His grandfather, Herbert Braun, settled in Gross Point (now Wilmette) in 1844, 28 years before Wilmette's founding. Mr. Braun is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Rose Heuer Braun; four sons, Louis B. Jr., of Fish Creek, Wis., Richard H. of Arlington Heights, Thomas J. of Tuscon, and John R. of Seal Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Kathleen Huston of Tuscon,; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Clarence ("Windy") Braun of Northfield, and Martin ("Punkin") Braun of Wilmette; and three sisters, Adeline Wickless of Glenview, Josephine Tontsch of Crystal Lake, amd Lorraine Woodall of Barrington. Funeral services were in Tuscon at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
