- Edwin J. Bernau Sr., 93, of Wilmette, died June 6, 2001 in his home. Born March 13, 1908 in Chicago. Preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve (née Mullen) Bernau. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo (Mel) Howard of Chicago; a son, Edwin J. (Kathy) Bernau Jr. of Denver, Colorado; and grandchildren, Greg and Elizabeth Howard, Kelly Anne (John) Millen, Edwin J. Bernau III and Anne Killian.
