- Helen Smith Hale, 85, of Lake Bluff, died Feb. 7 at Condell Memorial Hospital, Libertyville. She was born Aug. 11, 1900, in Chicago. Mrs. Hale is survived by her sons, Alexander (Mary Ann) Hale of Lake Bluff and David M. Hale of Lighthouse Point, Fla. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive, as does a sister, Marian Purvis, of Wilmette.
