- John E. Bireley, 73, a Wilmette resident, died April 21, 2002 in Evanston Hospital. Born May 20, 1928 in Evanston. Preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Marian Bireley of Evanston. Survived by his wife, Joan; brother Robert, S.J.; sister Barbara, R.S.C.J.; and children J. Michael (Polly) of Plano, Texas, Margaret (Bill) Snyder of Scottsdale, Ariz., Marybeth (Jim) Chess of Atlanta, Ga., Martha (Chris) McCurdy of Northbrook, Mark (Marian) Bireley of Boston, Mass. and Mathew (Kelly) of Chicago; and 19 grandchildren
