- Marie Cuny Owens, 81, died Sept. 24. She was the widow of Fred E. Owens, who died in 1974. Mrs. Owens is survived by her children, Fred Owens, Jr. of Boston, Carolyn Rios of Los Angeles, Katy Owens Sutherland of Denver and Tom and Chery Owens of Los Angeles; her brother, and sister, Gerald Cuny and Carolyn Cuny, both of Chicago; and her grandchildren, Prima and Zana Rios, Eva and Eva [sic] Owens, Elizabeth and Rosemary Taylor, Aisha Barbeau and Laura Maeve Camerlo. A daughter, Mary Elizabeth Owens, died before her.
