John M. McGill killed by North Western Flyer

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for John M. McGill, 1425 Hill street, who was instantly killed Wednesday afternoon when struck by a Chicago-bound flyer at the Oakwood avenue crossing of the Chicago and North Western railway.

Mr. McGill, who was 79 years old and partially deaf, was said to have passed around the lowered gates. It was thought that he had seen the approaching train but misjudged its speed.

Mr. McGill was formerly associated with John V. Farwell and company, but had been retired for about 15 years.

He is survived by his widow, who is 75 years old; a son, John H. McGill, of 216 Broadway, and a daughter, Mrs. Lyons, of Florida.

Following services at the home of the son, burial will take place at Memorial Park.
