- The ordinance prohibits smoking in virtually all public places and places of employment effectively ending smoking sections in restaurants. The Ordinance was passed in November but the effective date was pushed back to July as a concession to businesses making the adjustment. The American Legion Post 46, as a private club, has a separate extension until January 2005, but only one business, a cigar store, has a permanent exemption.
