- William Joseph Hahn, 83, died Oct. 22.
Mr. Hahn was born Dec. 2, 1920 in Wilmette to George A. and Julia (nee Verhalen) Hahn. Mr. Hahn worked in the family insurance business, Hahn Agency, Inc., for 40 years, retiring as president. Two of his children, Robert J. Hahn and Marcia H. Johnson, are now owners of the firm.
On Sept. 20, 1947, Mr. Hahn married Charlotte Langill at St. Francis Church in Wilmette.
He is survived by eight children: Julia (Richard) Medlock, William (Laurie), Charles (Lea), Elizabeth (Mark) Giffin, Marcia (Dale) Johnson, Robert (Kathy), Daniel (Kerry) and Marie (Daniel) Marks; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite (Edward) Resch; three brothers, James (the late Sally), Richard (Barbara) and Robert; and many nieces and nephews.
His brothers Thomas and George (Therese) and his sister Adeline preceded him in death
A memorial service was held Oct. 29 at our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Glenview.
