- Michael Slovitt earned 33rd place in the American junior Golf Association Boys Junior Championship at Bay Hill in Orlando
At the Illinois Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions Monday at Biltmore Country Club in Barrington, Jacob Wagner of Wilmette claimed 10th place, Mike Nelson of Wilmette was 18th, Glenview's Rory Kenny tied for 27th place
Ellie Costello of Wilmette won the First Flight level of the Illinois Junior Girls Championship Aug 2-3 at the University of Illinois' Orange Course in Savoy, and Claire Costello was in 15th place
Christopher Hjelm of Winnetka took third among Senior Boys at the IJGA Chicago Park District's Jackson Park Junior Open last Thursday. Rory Kenny tied for 14th place, Steve Gutzmer of Wilmette was in 32nd place, Eleanor Costello of Wilmette took third place in the Senior Girls competition. Claire Costello placed 8th. Mike Nelson won second place with Jacob Roche sharing 23rd place. Wilmette's Denny O'Malley tied for 33rd and Winnetka's Sean Cleary was at 44th place
At the Youth Development Program event last Thursday at Boughton Ridge in Bolingbrook Wilmette's Joe Rusell took 35th place; ;
At the IJGA regional at Barrington's Makray Memorial Golf Club Aug. 3rd, Winnetka's Will Ford shared 18th place with Connor O'Halleran, also of Winnetka, while Glenview's Chris Anderson tied for 46th place and Winnetka's Jim Walsh earned the 57th spot in Junior Boys play. Among Senior Boys, Evan Teitelbaum of Glenview tied for 17th place, Glenview's Andrew Buchanan and Wilmette's Steve Gutzmer tied for 24th. Kelly Brennan of Winnetka earned fourth place in Senior Girls, while Christina Riley of Winnetka got sixth
In the IJGA regional at Sycamore Golf Club Aug. 2, Wilmette's Jacob Wagner earned the runner-up spot in Junior Boys, Glenview's Adam Wolf tied for sixth, Glenview's Mark Marinelli shared 24th place; Winnetka's Drew Langan took second place among boys 10-11 in the YDP event Aug. 1 at Deer Creek Golf Club in University Park. Jack Cornelo of Winnetka claimed third place. Among the girls Wilmette's Katy O'Malley won second while Glenview's Melanie Chaiyakam was third
In the Tournament Players Series Aug. 1 held at The Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington, Jacob Wagner of Wilmette shared 32nd spot and Wilmette's Mike Nelson finished 51st. In the girls event Kenilworth's Mary Collins claimed 10th
