- Charles Gates Dawes, vice president from 1925 to 1929 under President Calvin Coolidge, wrote "Melody in A Major" in 1911. In 1951, the same year Dawes died, Carl Sigman added words to Dawes' well-known melody, calling it "It's All in the Game." Dozens of artists h ave recorded "It's All in the Game" List of performers who have recorded the song.
