- Ruth Ketter Anhalt, 79, of Wilmette, died Feb. 9 at Mather Pavilion in Evanston.
Mrs. Anhalt was born Feb. 15, 1923 in Evanston and lived her entire life within a two-mile radius of her childhood parish, St. Joseph in Wilmette. She met her late husband, Jack Anhalt, after high school and they married in 1943.
Survivors include one son, Dennis (Pat) of Glenview; two daughters, Karen (Karl) Haubenchild of Castle Rock, Colo. and Donna (John "Jack") Anhalt-Straka of Wilmette; seven grandchildren, Courtney Trigg, Todd and Cameron Anhalt, Jessica Anhalt Straka, Ali Straka and Matthew and Sara Haubenchild; one great-grandchild, Tyler Trigg; and two sisters, Doralee Kropp of Clearwater, Fla. and Terese Kropp of Morton Grove.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Lake Ave. in Wilmette.
