- Lady Valerie Solti was the guest of honor at a benefit Oct. 4 for the Solti Foundation U.S., which supports young American musicians at the start of their professional careers. The event raised $25,000. Guests included violinist Rachel Barton Pine and her husband Greg Pine; Joan Harris; Renee and Lester Crown of Wilmette; Brian Dickie of Chicago Opera Theater; Sel Kardan preisdent of the Music Institute of Chicago; Ann and William Goldstein of Evanston; Catherine Graham of Kenilworth; Ingrid and Thomas McNeill of Winnetka, and Kay and James Babie of Northbrook.
