- Loyola Academy senior Shaquira Scott gave a verbal commitment to play for Valparaiso University Women's basketball team.
Ellie Heinrich placed 29th at the Class 2A Nazareth Academy Sectional Saturday at Niles West but fell short of advancing to the state finals.
Nick McCall of Winnetka who plays golf at North Shore Country Day School, competed at the Optimist International Tournament of Champions Saturday at Disney's Palm Course in Orlando, Florida, and tied for 9th place in the boys 14-15 age group.
Players from New Trier, Loyola, North Shore CountryDay and Glenbrook South all earned spots on the 50-player all-state team selected by the Illinois High School Field Hockey Association last week. They include from New Trier Maggie Campbell, Sara DeStefano, Kate Hackett, Emma Mitchell and Annie Rojas. From Loyola were Tess Belton, Elizabeth Kirby, Katie Jenko, Lucy Woodrow and Caroline Wright. Also earning spots were Grace Flickinger, KimKahnweiler, Rachel Mabie and Madeline Tank of North Shore Country Day. - Date of Publication
