- Wilmette residents camped as a "colony" for a month in Vilas County, Wisconsin. Ralph Bruch, 14, and his sister, Helen, distinguished themselves for catching fish on the Lac du Flambeau reservation. They are children of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bruch of 1201 Greenwood Avenue. Also mentioned in the article were their other children Louis, Merritt, and Marcia. Others in the party include H.J. Brumbach and his son, Claude; Louis J. Pierson of 730 Lake Avenue with his wife and children Hazel and Leland; The Misses Margaret and Frances Scheidenhelm; Russell Stafford of Glencoe; Harry Hamlin, Paul Stinson, Cyrus Hillis, John Taucher.
