- The department of social services of the Evanston Woman's club held its inaugural meeting of the season at the Avenue hotel, Tuesday, Oct. 15. Mrs. F. S. Pooler, chairman of the luncheon committee, oversaw the menu.
Mrs. William A. Locy, chairman of the social service department, was toastmistress. Mrs. Charles H. Limbach spoke about the accomplishments of the club as well as the ongoing programs. Mrs. Charles F. Grey, a charter member of the club, talked on "Realization," and gave interesting information of the formation of this special branch of the club. Mrs. Guy F. McCabe next sang a song written by Mrs. Wilber E. Coe, "Our New Club Home, " to the tune of "Old Kentucky Home." Mrs. Joseph Pearson gave a fine parody on the "Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe," etc. This was written by Mrs. Mitchell, mother of Mrs. Robert Ennis. Other speakers included Mrs. Catherine Waugh McCulloch, Mrs. C. H. Zimmerman, Mrs. Guy F. McCabe and Mrs. Charles E. Clifton.The closing feature was a song written for the occasioni by Mrs. Charles T. Bartlett, "Our Department," music to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne.". This was sung by Mrs. McCabe.
