The Northwestern University Prohibition Club held its first meeting Wednesday after the Y. M. C. A. meeting in Lunt Library and elected officers for the ensuing year. Mr. Whiteside acted as temporary chairman and gave a brief talk on the nature and purpose of the club. The officers elected were:
President - Arthur J. Steffy.
Vice-President - George T. Green.
Secretary - Mr. Harlow.
Treasurer - Mr. McCain.
Reporter - Mr. Dawson.
The club is non-partisan in nature and aims to work with any organization which is trying to abolish the liquor traffic. It is planned to have frequent meetings of the club at which addresses will be given by prohibition leaders of prominence. Once or twice a year a rally will be held to which the general public will be invited.
