Mr. W. G. Riley is on a business trip to the Pacific coast.
Mrs. L. A. West is home from a two weeks' visit to Olney, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Thorsen and family are home from Indiana.
Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Barber are home from a river trip in the south.
Mrs. E. A. Filkins was hostess to a small party of friends last week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Weart are home from a visit to southern Wisconsin.
Mr. Thomas Bishop is on a three weeks' business trip to Cleveland, O.
Thursday afternoon Mrs. Arthur Symes gave a reception at her home.
Mr. W. J. Fischer is in Philadelphia with the Chicago Grand Opera company.
Mr. and Mrs. Jirah Dole have as their guests Mr. and Mrs. W. A. College of Yorkville, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Elliott are residing at the Moraine hotel pending the completion of their home.
A very enjoyable musical was enjoyed by the Royal Arcanum lodge at Community House, Oct. 21.
After several weeks of hunting in Minnesota, Dr. and Mrs. A. H. Murdow have returned to Winnetka.
Mrs. Stuart F. Marchant has returned from an extended trip to New York and Rhode Island. Mrs. Caroline E. Greene, who went with her, will remain another month in the east.
Mrs. Herman B. Butler entertained Saturday afternoon at her home, "Hillrise," in honor of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Francis Butler.
On Tuesday evening (election night) election returns will be received at Community House. A stereopticon program will be given also.
Mr. and Mrs. Georhe Wheeler Hinman are on an exptended trip throughout the west. Last week they were at Yellowstone National Park.
Mrs. W. W. Power and children have returned from Steele City, Neb., and are occupying a house in Glencoe until the completion of their home on Spruce street.
Mr. Thomas Dreoos, whose home in Glencoe was destroyed by fire a short time ago, is occupying a housse on Spruce street until the completion of their home.
