Mrs. Mary Loutsch spent a week in Milwaukee. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. John J. Bell. Miss Helen Zeutschel was sick in bed last week with tonsilitis. Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Lauermann of Reliance, S. C., are here for an extended visit. Miss Catherine Schildgen of Lake avenue has been very sick, but is on the way of recovery. Mr. Jos. Bleser, who injured his ankle Christmas eve, will not be able to work for a few weeks. Edw. Hoffman, Ben Lohf and several others from Wilmette spent two days in Clifton, Ill., shooting rabbits. Mrs. Peter Borre is at Grand Rapids, Wis., where she will spend a few weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Anton Schwall. Rev. Jos. B. Lauermann underwebt another operation last week. It is expected that he will be able to come home within a few weeks. Very Rev. E. J. Vattmann was confined to his house for a week and a half with a bad cold which threatened to develop into pneumonia. Mr. Michael Balmes and his daughter, Lena, left last week for La Feria, Texas, where they will stay indefinitely on the farm Mr. Balmes bought some time ago. Mr. John Reinert has sold his farm, consisting of ten acres of land and house. Mr. Peter Borre also sold his land to the same company retaining his house and lot. The Fraternal Order of Eagles had a public installation of officers last Thursday evening an a dance following. Highwood Aerie installed the newly elected officers. The Catholic Order of Foresters installed their newly elected officers last Sunday afternoon. Deputy Chief Ranger Geo. Busscher of Niles Center was the installing officer. A card party for the members and their families followed the istallation. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stark and son, Oscar, left last Saturday evening for Salem, Ore., where they will make their future home providing the climate is conducive to restoring the health of Mrs. Stark. Salem is fifty-six miles from Portland, Ore.
