Valleau, John D., Sr. (née DeLage) (Died)

Valleau, John D. Sr. Age 80, longtime resident of Northbrook, passed away after a long battle with cancer on August 8, 2011. Husband of the late Margaret Valleau; father of John (Cynthia)Valleau Jr. and Aimee (Chris) Hier; grandfather of Katie Valleau (Nathan)Martin, Meghan Valleau, JD Valleau III, Abigail, CJ and Margaret Hier; brother of Marjorie, Joan, James(Peggy), Marie, and the late Richard (Kathy) Valleau; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Valleau was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served on the destroyer, USS Joyce, in the North Atlantic for most of his three year tour. He was also formerly active with the Northbrook Civic Foundation, Knights of Columbus Divine Word Council # 7331, the Deerfield American Legion and the St. Norbert's Men's Club. A visitation was held Thursday, August 11, 2011 at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, Glenview and a Funeral Mass was held Thursday, August 11, 2011 at St. Norbert Church, Northbrook.
