New Trier School Notes

On Monday there was a game of basketball between Evanston High School and New Trier fives at the New Trier gymnasium. New Trier won by a score of 28 to 24. E. Johnson of Evanston helped the winners by dropping the ball into New Trier's basket, but squared himself by making five double counts for Evanston.
The girls' gymnasium classes started Monday.
The Elizabethan society, made up of girls from the freshman and sophomore years held a business meeting last Thursday at which the semi-annual election of officers took place. Miss Louise Logio was elected president; Miss Marjorie Bartholf, vice-president. As the membership limit is about reached, which is thirty, and there are a number of applications in, a discussion arose as to whether to raise the limit or divide the society. More individual good can be obtained where the membership is not too large, and if there are enough to warrant it might be better to have another section.
The Zenobian society, consisting og the girls of the junior and senior classes, are to have a joint debate with the Senate, March 20. The Senate chose the question, "Phillippino Independence," and the girls have the privilege of choosing the side they wish to take. They will take the negative side.
Miss Ullrick took the second division of her Greek class, consisting of boys, through the sculpture galleries of the Art Institute, Saturday morning, Feb. 1.
Carlton Kaumeyer, a member of the high school orchestra, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Kaumeyer, 601 Linden avenue, played a violin solo before a large audience at the service conducted by M. M. Mangasarian at the Studebaker theater Sunday morning.
