No School

School will not be in session Monday in observance of Columbus Day.

Shop for Romona

People can visit the Romona PTA website, “Shop & Earn” tab, before every online purchase. If they enter the Escrips online mall via the school’s site (www.romonapta.org), Romona School will earn up to a 16 percent rebate on every online purchase made with no need to register and no additional fees. Seeking stars

Romona will present the “Willy Wonka” school play and is seeking students to star in it. Space is limited and registration is happening now at www.romonapta.org/rclubs/afterschoolclubs.html.

R Clubs

R Clubs registration closes tomorrow. The school needs a few more sign-ups for Language Stars Mandarin, Video Game programming (third-fourth grade) and Musical Theater Showcase (Shrek) to ensure these clubs run. www.romonapta.org/rclubs/afterschoolclubs.html.

Junior Great Books Program

Developed by the University of Chicago, Junior Great Books is an enriching and fun activity for students who love to read. The program provides eager readers an opportunity to read an interesting story and discuss it their peers. An activity pertaining to the story follows the discussion. The program runs for six weeks starting during lunch Oct. 24. Online registration will run Tuesday-Oct. 14. Space is limited. Visit www.romonapta.org/programs/jrgreatbooks.html.

Multicultural Potluck

The fifth annual Multicultural Potluck dinner will take place from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Romona Cafeteria. Bring a dish of your native country. The event is open to the Romona community only.
