Partnering with volleyball team
McKenzie has been officially approved to be partners with the Women’s Sitting Volleyball Paralympic Team that will compete this summer in the London 2012 Paralympics. As part of the student’s service learning opportunities they will be involved in planning ways to support and encourage the athletes as they train and prepare for the Paralymipic Games.
Going Places raffle
The McKenzie PTA Benefit “Going Places” is just around the corner! Raffle tickets were sent home via Backpack Express this week. Raffle tickets and payment can be returned through Backpack Express or dropped off in the main office. Extra tickets are available in the office. MLK program
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, McKenzie students from each grade donated items and assembled birthday bags to be donated to a local food pantry. Collections were held Jan. 21s-28, and children will have an opportunity to volunteer and help assemble bags on an indoor recess day.
Kindergarten registration
Kindergarten registration packets for the 2012-13 school year will be available the McKenzie school office beginning Feb. 1.
