What Is Doing in Lake Forest

Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Clow opened their summer home Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Winchell have leased the Horace Hawes Martin [word cut off] for the season.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Ware will [word cut off] the summer months at the Onwentsia club.

Mr. and Mrs. Bertrande Walker have leased their apartments in Chicago and will pass the summer at the Onwentsia club.

Mr. and Mrs. John Crerar have taken the Norman Scott place for the summer. They will open the home the week after next.

The Herman D. Gade residence near the Onwentsia club has been leased for the summer to Mr. and Mrs. Watson Armour.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Keith will take up their residence in one of the Onwentsia club cottages June 22 for two months.

Mr. and Mrs. Potter Palmer, Jr., and children of Lake Shore drive, have taken the Abram Poole home for the summer.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Carr are expected home from Woodstock, Vt., in a few weeks to open their summer place here.

Dr. N. S. Davis has sold his summer home here to Mr. Edward F. Carry of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Carry have occupied the home for the last two summer seasons.

Mrs. C. Morse Ely of Chicago has leased the home of Mrs. John Hamline for the summer and took possession Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Morse Ely will pass a part of the summer with the former's mother.

William R. Stirling and daughters, Misses Jean and Dorothy Stirling, 1016 Prairie avenue, Chicago, will open their country place here next week.

Miss Evelyn Shaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Shaw, and Miss Katharine Keith, Jr., are planning to spend the summer abroad. They will be accompanied by a chaperon.

Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Worth Jackson have just returned from a western trip and will open their summer home here next week. Mrs. Jackson spent most of the winter in California and Arizona and was met by Mr. Jackson for the return trip two weeks ago.

After passing the winter at Palm Beach, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. McElwee arrived in Lake Forest last week and immediately opened their beautiful summer homes. They enjoyed a trip to New York before returning to Lake Forest.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Schweppe, who have been staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Shedd, parents of Mrs. Schweppe, in Chicago, since returning from their wedding trip, have taken up their residence here for the summer.

Mrs. Frank McMullin, well-known social leader and philanthropic worker, will be a summer resident of Lake Forest this season. She has taken the Arthur Aldis home in the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Aldis, who will tour Europe until late in the autumn. Mrs. McMullin has formerly passed the summer months in Highland Park.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sawyer Goodman will not occupy their summer home here this season, but have planned a tour of Europe. They have recently returned from a motoring trip in the west, following an excursion through Honolulu. They will be accompanied on their European journey by their daughters, Misses Isabelle, Frances and Dorothy.

Mr. and Mrs. D. R. McLennan will leave today for Minneapolis, where they will attend the wedding Friday of Miss Elizabeth Haskell Bright to Ralph Stanley Longstaff of Pierre, S. D. Miss Helen Noyes of Milwaukee will be bridesmaid at the wedding. Miss Noyes and Mrs. McLennan are daughters of Judge and Mrs. George H. Noyes of Milwaukee. Miss Bright, the bride-to-be, is a relative of Mrs. McLennan.

Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Chatfield-Taylor are expected in Lake Forest within the next fortnight from New York. Mr. Chatfield-Taylor has completed his biography of Goldoni and will enjoy a long-needed rest when he arrives at his summer home here. He has been passing the winter in Palm Beach, Fla., with Mrs. Chatfield-Taylor. The return journey was made via New York for a visit with Mrs. Reginald de Koven, Mrs. Charfield-Taylor's sister.
