What People Are Doing In Kenilworth

Mrs. A. F. Reichmann of Kenilworth avenue is entertaining her mother, Mrs. J. H. Dent of Toronto, Canada. Mrs. Charles Ware has as her guest her sister-in-law, Mrs. Roy Ware of Salt Lake City, Utah. Mrs. John C. Everett entertained her niece, Miss Florence Goold of Chicago, a few days last week. Miss Louisa Sanborn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Sanborn, Essex road, is ill with scarlet fever. The Bridge club was entertained in the home of Mrs. E. D. Parmelee in Roslyn road Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. A. Gillis of Huron, N. D., is the guest of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Claud Burnham, for a few weeks. Dr. George Pitts, who has been in northern Michigan for the last ten days on a fishing trip, returned home the last of the week. The condition of Mrs. F. E. Nellis, Jr., who underwent an operation at the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago ten days ago, is reported as improving. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Reichmann of Kenilworth aveneu are planning to leave July 1 for an extended trip through England and Germany. They expect to return early in September. Mrs. J. S. Cleveland, just returned from Thomasville, Fla., where she passed the winter, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. C. K. Parmelee, in Melrose avenue. Mrs. James Chapman entertained the members of the Woman's guild of the Union church Monday afternoon in the first porch party of the season in her home in Roslyn road. Master Grant Keehn underwent an operation for a slight throat trouble last week in the Evanston hospital. He is getting along nicely. Marial West Eckhart, the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Eckhart, who was operated upon recently at the Evanston hospital, has returned to her home. Mrs. E. K. Spicer, a former well known resident of Kenilworth, now residing in Montreal, Canada, is the guest of Mrs. Alfred Maynard in Wilmette. She passed a few hours the first of the week calling on old friends and acquaintances here. Several social functions probably will be given in her honor before her return. A kitchen shower will be given in the home of Mrs. Charles K. Blackwood in Warwick road Wednesday afternoon, May 21, in honor of Miss Susan B. Phillips, who will become the bride of William Zimmerman May 31. On account of the trip to Glenwood by members of the Woman's guild of the Union church tomorrow, the linen shower which was planned in Mrs. George B. Calkin's home for tomorrow has been postponed until Monday, May 19.
