- Avoca School District will honor Veterans Day by keeping students in attendance to learn about the service of veterans to the country. The school District also sponsors a pancake breakfast by the Avoca West Student Council for community veterans. American Education Week will be celebrated in Avoca schools Nov. 12-16. Schedule of activities.
