Schmidt, William (Died)

William A. Schmidt, 79, of 206 15th St., Wilmette, died Dec. 24 in Evanston Hospital. Mr. Schmidt, who was a Wilmette Police officer from 1929 to 1949, lived in the village 42 years. He is survived by his wife, Julia; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Cossarek and Mrs. Gladys Warren, both of Wilmette; three sons, Edward W. of Evanston, Harold E. of Wilmette, and William T. of San Marcos, Tex. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Gensch of Evanston, Mrs. Lucille Walgren of Chicago and Mrs. May Reed of Michigan; a brother, LeRoy of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were held Dec. 27 in the Scott Funeral Home. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
