Why the VAPER PROCESS as the Quality Permanent is also the least expensive in the long run. · Minnehaha troop of Girl Scouts will meet Friday at 3 :30, upstairs. ·a A Permanent wave is not a hard thing to get, but as many have found out, th~re are waves and waves. The tight kinky wave requires no particular skill, and can be turned out for little expenditure-But the Permanent Wave, to be strictly literal, and to be a saver and restorer of hair health, must be administered by · a trained, skillful artisan-And with equipment of proven ex .. .penence. Three things are accomplished in producing a Permanent: 1. The hair must be stretched. 2. The cuticle of the hair must be softened. 3· · The hair must be subject.ed to a certain amount of heat. These three things are related, so that if more stretch is ad min~ istered, less heat, and less softener is required to produce the wave . . It also follows that where there is less stretch, more soft~ ener and more heat must be used. But-Stretch makes the scalp healthy, because it exercises it, and softener tends to discolor the hair if used in large ingredients, and heat burns out the life in hair if given strong. The Wave Process therefore that can utilize stretching best is most desirable. V APER MARCEL CURLERS utilize the Stretch to about 90% more than can any other process, making it possible to use a mild softener, and a gentle vapor steam. This eliminates all possibility of discoloration or damage fo the hair .. It does this without electricity, so there is no shock danger. It is the process recomme_ n ded by the leaders in the field, Marin.: ell c . Mme. Louise of New York, etc. The fee is $25.~~o.
