The book circulation during the month amounted to 7,225, the largest smce last Konmber when 7,362 books were loaned t::> local readers. The preference among the adult bor.rowers ran to fiction apparently, as over seventy percent of the books, loaned from this department, or 2,588 volumes, were novels. Children's hooks numbered 2.696 Yolumes, which constituted for.ty 11ercen t of the total circulation from the main library, while from the Laurel branch the number of chilflren's hooks loaned amounted to more than twice the numher of volumes taken out by adults. The library registration now numbers 4,726 readers and the total number of hooks on the shelves is 12,574. One hundred and seventy-eight books were added to the collection during March and seventy-five adults and fort\·-four children were added to the roll. of regular patrons. A total of 779 books were circulated from the Laurel branch during the month; 205 to adults and 574 to children. The circulation average from the branch amounted to sixty books each dar. l MOVE C.
