"Forewarned is Forearmed"·----When an enemy threatens to strike, friendly warning and assurance that help is available is a message of cheer. In this instance the enemy is a disease cap·able of affecting man and his animal companions. It is rabies, known also as hydrophobia. But thanks to the great work of Pasteur and other scientists, both medic:al and veterinary, this disease is no longer capable of causing death and destruction when modern means of prevention are intelligently employed. It has been n1ore than four years since a rabid dog has been observed in any of the North Shore towns but recently two cases occurred in Winnetka, hence this friendly warning is issued to all dog owners on the North Shore. With this warning comes positive assurance that it is practical to immunize dogs against rabies by one single administration of a prophylactic treatment. If all dog owners in this territory have their animals immunized against rabies promptly, not only will these dogs be safe, but the threate.n ing enemy will be practically stamped out of existence hereabout within less than six weeks. Rabies is an infectious disease that is communicated usually by the bite of an animal that has the disease. Weather, climate and season have no influence on rabies. Being anxious to protect all dogs against this enemy and desiring to forestall anxiety and ~xpense for their owners, the following veterinary practitioners have made preparation to cope with the situation promptly and efficiently, if animal owners will cooperate without delay. Telephone for an appointment and take your dog-toy, pet, companion or guardian, to your veterinarian for immunization today. Dr. F. B. Erwin. Phone Wilmette 3 3 4 7. Drs.
