Aniong other things it is featuring the booklet on Washington by Albert ·Bushnell Hart, 'which has been published by the American Library association in co-operation with the George Washington Bi:.e..entenary. commission established by ·'.le President and Congress. In the : brief essay preceding the list of books recommended for reading, the author pictures the "Many-sided Washington." Dr. Hart says of Washington: "His versatility challenges us, for he was an exceptional farmer, a good business man, explorer, engineer, a founder of corporations, an organizer of armies, a great commander, a great president, and a great statesman. "In addition to this, he was gracious and sympathetic, devoted to his wife and kindred, taking over the children and · grandchildren of his wife by a previous marriage as though they were his own ; intensely interested in the plain farmer and the private soldier, and in the mechanic and sailor. He was a self-educated man who wrote in a strong vigorous way. Although a graduate of no school or college, he always valued education highly and left funds to t·ound a unt·verst"ty." The Library has the following books on George Washington. . Ford-Washington and His Colleagues. Ford-George Washington. "dl W h" d H" G H ea ey- as mgton an IS enerals. Hughes-George Washington. Mr. DeCou's remarkable views of the South Sea wonderlands are accompanied by appropriate music· With Mr. DeCou the travelogue has been developed into what amounts . to a new art, in his 3 ynchronization of appropriate music with the display of the beautifully colored pictures. It has been termed "armchair travel raised to the highest degree ; adequate description, comment and explanation, combined with faithful reproduction on the screen, plus the uplift and emotional interpretation of music." The program, half of which will be given February 12, and the balance on the following Sunday, is as foJJows: Plet·re· COLLEGE LARGE QUEEN OLIVES, 2{}-oz. jar . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6 Pupils Score 34 Out of 35 Points in Math Teats Recently a standarized test in the fundamentals of arithmetic was given in all of the sixth, seven·. h and eighth f{rades of the Wilmette schools.
