Tuesday·s biDing, "Spotlight," features Esther Ralston in an unusual little drama of how the bucholic Lizzie Stokes becomes the world famous Russian actress, Rostova. It is a bit of pointed kidding on temperament and our love for foreign names. With W . C. Fields and Chester Conklin teamed as in "Two Flaming Youths," it would be hard to imagine a play that would fail to make the fans laugh. And the picture can be counted on for an evening's good fun It wiD be presentect Friday. "Who's the handsomest man on the M-G-M lot, and. why am I? Billy Dove is featured in "The Heart of a Follies Girl." The story is that of a girl's persistent sacrifice for a man ·who sells his honor to win her attention. Larry Kent is the boy ; Low:ll Sherman is the menace and Mildred Harris is the gold-digger. "Thanks for the Buggy Ride" is by Universal. It is a comedy with an original idea and- is Laura LaPlante's best. It is the most outstanding of the week's billing. "Something Always Happens" is a delillhtful melodramatic farce in which Neil Hamilton and Sojin vie with each other in givin~ Esther Ralston a lasting thrill. ·Esther gets a very decided surprise when she finds herself (after wishing for somethint! to happen) in a haunted house of must~ stairs. sliding panels and walking chalirs. It will run a close second to "Thanks for the Buggy Ride" insofar · as popularity is concerned. Evelyn Brent is the onlv woman in the cast of the underworld ~ng picture, ..The Dra,r Nrt." wbicb now is being made at the Paramount studio, with George Banc~t as the star.
