' Genuine Business Ttciining The atmosphere of a large buiincu office with expert supervision, good equ!Pmcat, plenty of light and sunshine, individual dab -these· are conducive to ·· a high grade of business education. All the commercial branches. Day and Evening. .I a hike to Pe(!rson about three miles . away and talking with John Stone who runs the stqre but has been a woods boss in his time and looks it. He has ·s ome stories he can tell us. P~arson consists of three houses and two stores including the post office. The train runs through there from back in the woods every other day if there is a load for It. That's in the summer time. Mr. Stone savs that in the winter 1,200 men get their mail at Pearson and last year four and a half million feet of lumber went out. 1 guess that means plent y of virg in tim ber around there. Plenty Wild Up There It's plenty wild up there too. A farmer's dog cornered a skunk close to our tent-too close in fact, but we got him away in time. On two nights we had food stolen and eaten out of our supply t~nt. · After that we kept it box_~d up. ·The tracks were plenty large too. There are many deer up there and to quote the farmer-s the place is ".c hock full of wolves," which they ar_ e going to clean out this year. Ther~ is a bounty offered for wolves and coyotes and a wolf pelt is worth $11.00. A neighboring camper saw two deer drinking from the waters edge one evening but unfortunately we mi ssed the sight. I am crazy to go back-there are lots of lumbering roads, traih, and paths that we didn't have time to exploreand the granddaddy of all those fish has my lucky hook in him (I brought him to the ~urface to show my companions and then be took the hook and some line with h!m back home). We had frost there one August. night and Mr. Stone says they have twelve feet of snow there on the level and it goes a.; low as 54 ~elow so I think I'll wait until next summer .
