The institute, which is held annually, was called by E. ]. Tobin, county su perintendent of schools. Two lectures are on the morning program. Franklin B. Snyder, professor of English at Northwestern uni versity, will speak on "Standards of Value in the Books \Ve Read" at 10 o'cloc 1<, and .T. Raymond Schutz, professor of sociology at Manchester col lege, will spf'ak on "Modern Educa tion and the Future of Democracy" at 11 o'clock. In the afternoon at 2 o'cloc 1 < the principal address will be given by Dr. Preston Bradley, pastor of the People's church of Chicago on the suh iect, "The Other Side of the Desk." The program for both morning and afternoon will be interspersed with musical numbers furnished under the direction of ·John Beattie, supervisor of p·ublic school music at Northwest ern university. A g-irls' string- trio and a tenor soloist will entertain. Floyd E. Thompson, former justice of the Illinois Supreme court, and Democratic nominee for Governor of Illinois, will speak at a Thompson rally in Winnetka Community House tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. Neville. a representative of the American Nature association, at the Stolp school todav. The pictures witt be shown this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and tonight at 8 o'clock as one of the projects of the \Vilmette Teachers' club. Thev will be an educational studv of the caves in Kentucky. The teachers' cluh is urging a larg-e attendance. The club will sponsor the apoearance of a ma gician here in December. Mrs. Louis Becker returned la st week to her home at 105. Fifth ~treet. from a fortnight's motor trip. With her sister, Mrs. D. H. Howrll. and their mother, they motored to Rock Island and Davenport. A. Reichelt, Jr., of Deerfield, son of John A. Reichelt, of 1328 Elmwood avenue, Wilmette, died suddenly Friday, October 10. Apoplexy was said to have been the cause of his death. Mr. Reichelt was 57 years old. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marie Ward Reichelt, four dau~hters. Mrs. R. E. Pettis, Mrs. C. T. Anderson, and Helen Reichelt, all of Deerfield, and Mrs. C. C.
