December '/, 1928 b WILMETTE LIFE JU~ORLIFE Travelling Her Hobby, Says June Ahlstrand Miss Madsen, our literature teacher has requested us to write something about our hobby. I have several. They are cooking: sewtug and traveling. I am writing on sewing but I like traveling equally as well. My inspiration of lovf.Dg travel was on my summer vacation last summer. I was very excited before I started. First we went to Denver. We stayed there two days visiting some friends who lived up on a . hill in the resident section and it was a real thrill to look down over the city and to gaze at the mountains. Our next stop was at Salt Lake City There I enjoyed it immensely. We took a tour around the city. We found that they were very clean indeed for they washed their streets every day. Ju:-;t before returning we went to the Mormon tabernacle and listened to the greatest organ in the world. The man who took us on the sight seeing trip ~a id that tlw roof was ten feet thick. . N 1 ext Pace we stopped was Lo.· Ang lefl. I had a very nice time th re. The other places. where we stopped were San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Victoria, and Vancou,·er, Canada. On our homeward journey we crossed the Canadian rockies and many canyon.'.-June Ahl~t rand, Howard 7A · Eighth Graders Complete Picture Group ·at Howard The eighth grade boys and girls of art pictures.
