The honor roll was not publi shed this month or last. To get on the honor roll you must have "V G" in Socia l Adapta tion and no grades below "G." Also, you must have no tardy marks. Th ere were nine girls on it and seven boys. Quite a f ew of the usual honor students, of girls were not on this month beca use of their grad s in gymnasium. Dish pans were spread around the rooms to catch the water. In the after~ noon the leaks were so bad that the seats had to be pushed over to one side of the room. The pupils had a hard tim e finding their desks, as they were all mixed up. Friday morning the pupils were very glad to see that the desks were pushed back in their right places. -Eleanor Ricks, 7A Stolp. W ednesday, January 25, the 7A class heard Dr. Carlton of the Epi scopal church of 'VV'ilmette. He talked on his adventures in the Hawaiian Islands and dwelled mostly on the Kilawa· volcano called by the Hawaiians, "The House of Everlasting Fire." · He gave us many interes ting facts :tbout it. The fire in it is in a big hole but there· are always fountains of fire in the middle of it about ::;eventy feet high. Dr. earlton also told us of spending a night ther(' and seeing a dark skinned native sneaking around and he supposed th e native wanted to kill him but Dr. Carlton escaped in safety. He wanted to show us some pictures of the volcano but didn't get a chance to show more . than ::;ix or seven. He told us of many more adventures which I have not room to t ell ·in this story. Girl Scouts Stage Plays; Now Plan "Dam" Meeting Fleeta Washes the Dishes and Meets With Accident Fleeta Freeman of the Howard school somehow got ambitious and tried to do thf' dishes for her mother. While she was washing the dishes, her mother decided that she wanted a drink. Unfortunately her mother dropped the cold glass into the hot water, where Fleeta was washing dishes.
