Vice-Commander Richmond of Wilmette Post No. 46, American Legion reported at the April meeting that the membership of the local unit is now one hundred percent. The cup awarded for the February membership drive in Cook county came to Wilmette by virtue of the aggressiveness of Mr. Richmond and his committee. The cup is given in consideration of Wilmette having achieved the highest percentage of the assigned quota. Rogers Park Post members were hosts at a district meeting Wednesday, April 17. A large delegation attended from the Wilmette Post. Wilmette Po.s t had charge of a booth at the Uptown Chicago exposition in Broadway armory Friday. The Drum and Bugle corps entertained with several snappy selections. Mrs. W. R. Brailsford, 916 Chestnut avenue entertained several of her friends' at luncheon and bridge Tuesday at Shawnee. World Mart Offers ' Attractive Things From Foreign ·Lands Jasmine tea served in a lovely ] apanese Tea garden, unusual cookies tarts, and other goodies displayed fo~ sale by Hansel and Gretel, and a lovely assortment of articles from foreign lands east and west, were found at ' the World mart held on Wednesday afternoon, April 17, at the National Kindergarten and Elementary college. The International club of the college each year presents the World mart as a benefit for its Foreign Student Aid fund. Foreign costumes and settings were added to the general merriment as faculty, students and friends enjoyed shopping in this unique fashion. The active membership of the club this year includes eleven foreign students and an equal number of American sisters. The foreign countries represented are China, Armenia, India, Germany, 'M exico, the Philippine Islands, Sweden, Poland. the British West Indies and Canada. . The American sisters included American Indian articles in their sales and other merchandise truly American. Miss Anita J auckens, a student from Mexico, is president of the club and Miss Mildred Melone of Wilmette was general chairman of the mart. Members of the College facultv wh o are honorary members of the club assisted as hostesses at the various booths and other honorary members who were patronesses for the event were Mrs. E. ].
