WILM~l' ·T· B North ·Weatem Railway ··:. · ' Eff~ Rail-Air·'Tie~~P The Chicago and North Western railway win begin air service for the irst time May 1 when a r.a il-air tie-up that will cut six hours from the running schedule between Middle Western cities and the Black Hills of ' South Dakota is started in conjunction witb the Rapid Air Lines, Inc., according to C. A. Cairns, passenger traffic manager of the railway. The service will be concentrated in South ·O akota with Huron and Rapid City as the key cities, and wilt expedite summer tourist service between the Black Hills and Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Omaha, and Sioux City. Trains will connect with a westbound plane at Huron leaving . every morning at 9 :15, and arriving at Rapid City, the gateway to the Hills, thret: and one-half hours later. East-bound · planes will leave Rapid City at 1 :30 P. M., for Huron connecting with trains at that point in all directions. Additional routes will also be established in the Black Hills with Rapid City as the central point of operation. Students' Troth Announced at Luncheon Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Walgreen of Chicago, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Ruth, to Justin \Vhitlock Dart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Dart of Hinsdale. The announcement was made Saturday at a luncheon at the Walgreen home, the ~uests numbering twenty-one. Miss Ruth and her fiance are both student · at Northwestern university. Mr. Dart is a senior, and Miss Walgreen is a sophomore. Mr. Dart has been known as quite a football star at the univer!': ity and is president of the senior class. He is a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity while Miss Wal~~een is a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Before she entered Northwester11 she attended the University School for Girls. George Seaberg, youthful Chicago pianist, who is well known throughout the north shore, has been announced as this year's winner of the contest for pianists sponsored by the Societv of American Musicians. First of all, visitors are welcomed at Park Ridge and a visit will result in interest. It is a boarding school for dependent girls supported by voluntary subscriptions for the. most oart, somewhat h) endowment. Some -of the girls whose parents are able to do so, pay a small tuition fee. Among the buildings is the Illinois Federated Club cottage which was built by and is supported in part by the Illinois Federation of \Vomen's clubs. The clubs do not defray all expenses for this cottage but they do a part through contributions. Mrs. Russell Cooke of Kenilworth is the representative of the "Neighbors" and at the recent annual meeting gave a most interesting report of the vwrk she and her committee had done at Park Ridge the past year.
