There will be a total of forty-two Civic Opera clubs, one in each of the forty-two districts of Metropolitan Chicago. The central and directing body of these various organizations will be chosen from a selected list of prominent citizens of the various forty-two districts. The first meeting of this organization will take place May 20, at the Steven s hotel, where a banquet will be tendered the guests. The attendance at the ban quet will be limited to five-hundredeach community sending from ten to twenty delegates, according to th e population of the district. At this meeting plans will be out lined for the formation of each of the 'ocal Civic Opera club s, and the programs for the year discussed. Through the Civic Opera clubs the members of the various· organizations will he brought more clo sely in touch with the operation s of the Chicago Civic Opera company. It is believed that this meeting will bring together for the first time those most prominent in the interest of the cultural growth of Metropolitan Chi cago, as expressed by the Chicago Civic Opera company.
