For the third successive year on the Waukegan court the New Trier boys whipped their Lake county rivals by the scant margin of one point last Friday night. This time it was an over-time game, and the final score was 21 to 20. Paul Jones, forward, made the free throw in the extra period which won the game for New Trier after the score had been tied 20 to 20 at the end of the regular playing time. Jones was high point man for his team, contributing a total of twelve points. Waukegan led at the end of the first quarter, 8 to 2. Soon after the opening of the second quarter, however, New Trier ran its score up to 10 before ·W aukegan got started. The half ended with a tie count, 12 to 12. In the middle of the last half Wau· kegan tried to stall after gaining a three point advantage, but to no avail. New Trier pulled u·p and won in the extra period. The Gray and Green heavyweights, fatigued after playing three games in seven days, did not show their usual form last Friday night and lost to Waukegan 27 to 15. Coach Clvde Grater used the second team for New Trier for almost half of the game. Clayton Paulson and Marshall Ling, forwards, each scored six points for New Trier. The score at half time was Waukegan 11, New Trier, 5. ary 3.
