Calvin Goddard, director of the Scientific Crime Detection labqratory which is affiliated with Northwestern university, will speak. Colonel Goddard 's talk will deal with crime detection work. He will explain his method of bullet detection bv which he can ascertain not only the type of bullet but the type of gun th~~ fired it. Colonel Goddard is a ballistics expert of national reputation, and his advice has been sought in the solving of many murder mysteries, including the St. Valentine's day massacre in Chicago last year. Miss Meyers, who was born in \Vilmette and spent her entire lifetime here, had been ill since last August and had been in the hospital since December 22. She was 35 year s old. Her parents, Mr. and 1frs. Herman Meyers, a sister, Miss Cecelia 1\fevers, all of "·hom live at 835 Park avctlU e, another sister, Mrs. Frank Turskay, 331 Fourteenth street, \Vilmette. and a niece, · Mary Jane Tur kaY. survive her. The funeral was heid \\' edncsday morning at 9 :30 o'clock at St. Francis Xavier church in Wilmette. Burial took place at ~I emorial Park cemetery. RETURNS FROM EAST Mrs. Ira Calif Darling, 256 Kenil\\ orth avenue, returned to Kenilworth on Monday of this week from the east, where she went to .join Jane Darling a! Ogontz school and. bring her home. Miss Jane is in the Marguerite h.-,spital in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Darling r.aYe been intending to make a trip to Chandler, Ariz. but due to the sudden illness of Jane, their trip will be indefinitely postponed. \iVhen Miss Jane is better. Mr. and Mrs. Darling 'kill take Jane to Arizona to recuperate. Mrs. P. S. Alfors of Amery, Wis., formerly of Wilmette, will be the house guest for several weeks of Mrs. Evald Anderson, 1729 Forest avenue, and also of the latter's mother, Mrs. Carl I.
