Goodspeed will deliver the first of a series of six lectures on the New Testament, un- der the, auspices. of the' North14 Shore brÏach, Friends' of Chicago Junior school,, on Tuesday evening, October 9, at 8 o'clock, at Win- netka Community Hou se. Dr. Goodspeed, professor. of Bib- lical Gréek and chairman of tbe departmnent of N e w. Testament and early Chris- tian literature in ~~- the University of --- Dr.E. ~ O&dPed Chicago, is widely ~-E~. known as a schol- = ar and a brilliant speaker, and is the author of "Ancient Sermons for----------------------------------------- Modern Times," "Harmony of the M Synoptic Gospels," "Things Seen and u=-=uzîl- -= W-eard," "The Bible, an American_ Translation," and other writings. His "Story of the New Testament". bas been published in Japanese and Chinese translations. The subject of Dr. Goodspeed's talk on October 9, will be "Mark, thej Earliest G;ospel." Mrs. Charles H.
