Valley chapter of thé DaughterS of the American Révolu- tion held its'opening at The Chimi- neys Tavern, September 24, with a luncheon at 12:30 o'clock, at which Mrs, J. K. Farley, Jr., the, regent, presided. After a short. address of welcome the state regent,. Mrs. Julian G. Goodhue, was introduced and gave a very inspiring and inter- esting talk. on the Constitution of the United States. Mr$. Raymond Kimbeli, chaplain general of the National society, brought a message of greeting andi congratulation from Mrs. Russell William Magna, president general at Washington, D. C., to the Skokie Valley chapter in recognition of its achievement in erecting the historic tablet on Christ church lych-gate. The visiting presiding regents ivere then introduced by Mrs. Farley and each made a short address. They were Mrs. F. J. Dickson, of the Chicago chapter; Mrs. E. J. Albrecht, of the Gen. Henry Dearborn chapter; Mrs. E. R. Phelps, North -Shore chapter in Highland Park, Mrs. James D. Lightbody of Glencoe chapter, and Mrs. Ray Thomas of Waukegan chapter. Other guests of honor were former regents. Mrs. William Finney Willîamson and 'XIrs Frank Fuller of the Chicago chap.- ter; Mrs. Bert. Crissey of George Rogers Clark chapter, and Mrs. Francis S. Graham of Glencoe. The rooni in the Chimneys was beautifully decorated with autumn flowers and there stood on a center table an enormous bowl of corr flowers and white gladiolus, blue and white being the D. A. R. colors. At 3 o'clock the members and guests proceeded to Christ churci by way of Fuller lane, where they viewed the old Indian Trail trec which stands there, a very fine speci- men and in perfect condition.. Kappa Delta Mothers Form. New Organization The Kappa Delta Mothers' asso- ciation held its first meeting in the new recreation room of the chapter house in Evanston on September 27.' The newly elected officers are Mrs. W. A. Mockler, president; Mrs. J. H. Bristol, vice-president; Mrs. P. F. S c h ock, corresponding secretary; Mrs. L. W. Bowles, recording secre- tary ; Mrs. F. M. Brown, treasurer. Mrs. C. V. Clark, Mrs. D. E. Winter and Mrs. G. W. Niestadt are in charge of flowers, calling, and pub- licity. Many social gatherings are being planned, including evening - parties. The regular monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday' of the month; and a cordial1 invitation is extended to mothers of Kappa Delta graduates as- well as of those now. attendîng school., The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 18, at the homne of M rs. Entertainêd Mrs. Dorothy Prentiss of.Charles- ton, Va., formerly of Winnetka, left Friday after a three Yweeks' visit with the RandalPoindexters of Happ, road. A number of parties was given in honor of Mrs. Prentiss, including a dinner by her host and hostess, a bridge party at which Mrs. Herbert Peterson was hostess, and a luncheon given by Mrs. Burton Ellis of Ev- anston. Miss Nancy: Wilds, 244 Oxford road, Kenilworth, wbo bas, been ill, with the flu, will leéave .the end of the week for Lake Forest to begin her freshman studies at Ferry 'Hall. Miss Wilds graduated last june from the academic scho ol at, Ferry 'Hall. Catholic Women to Hold First Meeting, Tuesday The North Shore Catbolic Woman's league is inviting the mem bers -of the Evanston Catholic Woman's club and the, Woman's Catholic club. of W3. mette to be its guests of honor at the meeting which opens the sçason, Tuesday, October 9, at the Witinetka Woman's club.
