- Mrs. Althea Murphy Savory, who was born in Winnetka on November 15, 1916, died at Mr. Sinai Hospital in New York City, N.Y. last Friday, October 24. Surviving are her husband, Gerard, playwright and director of London, England and New York; two daughters, Althea, 8, and Kristin, 5, by her first husband, Nixon de Tarnowsky, of Chicago and New York; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Dean Murphy of Winnetka; her sister, Mrs. Charles S. Jackson, of Wilmette; and four brothers, Carroll D. Jr., Clyde, Homer, and Lloyd.
