- John W. Adams, a junior at Northwestern University, related a story about Dean Thomas F. Holgate. Holgate was in error about a man he thought was suspicious. A young Evanson man, Jules Darow, formerly employed by the Public Service Company, decided he wanted to go to college to study dramatic art. The dean was suspicious of the young man who was loitering about the building and summoned police.
